Yashoda Women's College
We promote and support women's education. In association with UAA, a state-level reputed NGO, the trust has set up a women's college in Ganjam town: Yashoda Women's College.
The state government has approved Science and Arts streams with honors, 64 seats each. We currently offer Sociology, Education, IRPM, Economics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, and Chemistry.
It is the only degree-level college for women serving Ganjam block and two NACs. The management provides free hostel facilities and subsidized food for poor students. One-third of students have taken free admission; most others pay nominal fees.
Very poor students now have access to higher education. Most are first-generation college students who will help break the poverty chain in their families and communities.
If you'd like to support scholarships, mentoring, or facilities, please reach out.
Who we are
The trust is a registered non-profit public charitable trust. It has implemented many charitable and development-oriented activities in education, health, environment, empowerment of women, livelihood, and disaster management—benefitting hundreds of rural and urban resource-poor men, women, and children, and breaking the poverty cycle.
It is managed by volunteers and trustees who are not paid any remuneration or allowance for their work. The trust has raised resources from its trustees, their relatives, well-wishers, and members of women Self-Help Groups operating in Chatrapur, Ganjam, and Purushottampur Blocks of Ganjam district.
